Collection MHS (Unaccessioned) Textiles
Description Woman's long black crepe de chine evening gown. Worn by Mrs. Nellie Young nee Leov. The number "50" is on a small tape stitched centre back. Made of machine lace. Alternately twisted filling yarn results in a fine crinkled effect. 1930.

Construction details:
Bodice.
The dress is designed with no fastenings and falls straight from the shoulders to the hem. Has large lace insertions as part of the design and 14 self covered buttons down centre front. The low scooped neckline is outlined with a rolled collar which ends centre front in a tie. The set-in sleeves are wrist length and are shaped at the elbow.

There is no record of this gown being donated to MHS so it is being catalogued as Found in Collection.
