Description Dress and cape ensemble, 1970, labelled "Pure New Zealand Virgin Wool", trade mark number 13. Made in white and black woollen plaid with red, yellow and white tartan pattern (possibly Campbell tartan). The dress is knee length with ribbed knit rolled collar in black wool. Full-length sleeves are in the same black material as the cape lapel and are finished with ribbed knit (11.5cm) cuffs. The bodice is shaped into the bust. The skirt has an inverted pleat on both sides of the front of theskirt and the pleats are backed with the same black material. The seams are top stitched. It is fastened centre back with a metal zip. There are two long darts either side of the back zip.

This ensemble was worn by Boreen Blythe who ran a Blenheim shop in Maxwell Road specialising in designer gowns and corsetry.
