The Microwave Station on the Rahotia Saddle, above Haka Haka Bay in Port Underwood, is an important link in the current cell phone network, in addition to roles in most forms of wireless electronic communication. Its high vantage point gives line-of-sight coverage into both the Marlborough Sounds and Port Underwood.

In 1987 it underwent an upgrade during which the photographs making up this exhibit were taken. The scenery from the tower location is quite impressive.
