Description |
"Vintage Car Club Museum, Brayshaw Park. Viewing the north side". This is a closer view of 1987.006.0139. The sign on this side is from a Shell Oil (New Zealand) Limited gargae, with a "Big Tree" sign underneath. Big Tree, an early brand of petrol, was originally sold in tins by A.S. Patterson. Shell took it over, but continued to sell the brand through its garages. Plume Motor Spirits is the sign above the vehicles. It was sold by the Vacuum Oil Company which was later taken over by the Mobil Oil Company. A Goodyear tyre sign is hanging beneath the light.
Part of the Brayshaw Park, Beavertown photographic inventory, taken by Roger Thwaites about 1985. Possibly at the November 1985 open day. |
