Collection Don Furness Photograph Album
Description 1 photograph album of Marlborough then and now. The album has a brown vinyl cover and the pages are plastic covered self adhesive. Several of the photographs appear to be permanently stuck and several of the postcards have come loose and are now in their own envelopes. Many of the past items are dated, but none of the now ones are, but they are all before 1994. There are 15 leaves, backs and fronts have been used making 27 pages of pictures. These pages have been catalogued separately starting at 1995.015.0185.

Donald Milsham Furness worked for The Marlborough Express newspaper from 1931 and became Managing Director in 1950. He was a Company Manager when he died in 1994. His Furness family have owned the paper since 1879 when Don's grandfather, Smith James Furness, bought a partnership with James Henry Boundy. Don's son-in-law, Roger Rose, ended the family connection when he retired in 2011.
