Another photograph taken at the same time is in the same packet (see catalogue record 0000.900.0774). There are two negatives. A scan of this photograph will be used in the Changing European History Gallery 3 display in commemoration of the Marlborough Provincial 150th anniversary on 1 November 2009. ................................................................................................................................................................................Caption December 2009: Car handling before the age of 'roll on - roll off'. The Picton-Wellington ferry Tamahine served for many years. When it was being re-fitted a Wellington-Lyttelton ferry was used. Here we see the Rangatira taking a Wolseley on board.
