Description Photograph of people at the opening of the Blenheim-Seddon railway.

Photograph shows a crowd of people lining both sides of the track as the train comes into the station. Flags are strung across the line.

Three carriages and a guard's van was about all the diminutive steam engine could haul on the Picton - Seddon line. The blue gums in the background stand close by Starborough Station's sheep yards.

From the back of the photograph: "Opening bridge and Station" Tregonning.
