Taken from the photograph: "Seddon. Looking south down onto the Township of Seddon in the Awatere Valley. The Awatere River in the lower part and the road and rail bridge in the centre. Farmlands ... in all corners show the extent of progress since the subdivision of the Starborough Estate in 1899. Taken 1961, Brayshaw."
In 2007 the landscape has undergone a striking transformation into viticulture. The combined road-rail bridge now has a new road bridge alongside. |
