View of the Awatere road rail bridge 1902. Taken from the photograph: "The bridge across the Awatere River near Seddon. This bridge was built at a cost of 22,500 pounds and completed about 1902. Previous to this being erected the Awatere River took a severe toll of life at its various fords. Copied from Cyclopedia of Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast. Photograph shows a man, probably W.H. Macey, standing looking towards the river at the entrance of the bridge. Date on the photograph 10.10.02 : 10 October 1902.
