Awatere road rail bridge 1902.
Taken from the photograph: "The Awatere bridge near Seddon as it is today, photograph taken 1902. Notice the width of the road in the foreground. Copied 1963, from Brownlee album."
Photograph shows a man sitting on the wooden fence leading to the bridge entrance, several people standing on the road and some more people standing on the rail bridge.

In later years the approaches would have been inconvenient for large trucks and would have been widened. |
