Collection HM (unaccessioned) General
Description Vitrified [glazed] plate, manufactured by Grindley Hotel Ware, England and distributed in New Zealand by Gibsons & Paterson Limited. Printed, with "Commercial Hotel Havelock".

The china is a white design with a coloured stripe around the circumference and a painted logo on the outer edge.

The plate arrived in the mail with a covering letter from Susan McNiece who is a grand-daughter of Clarence Mills, one of the owners of the last Commercial Hotel, which burnt down about 1930. The plate has been in their family ever since.
